Update from our National Treasurer- 12/14/2016
"Sisters,
I would like to thank you for your assistance and your patience in this Reinstatement Process. Your cooperation in sending the letters from the IRS to Kathryn Keane and I were appreciated. Kathryn and her staff have been great and I have expressed my appreciation to them. Many of you have received letters stating that the Division, County and/or State is now recognized as a 501(c)(10) and is responsible to file a 990/990-EZ/990-N. The next letter that will be sent from the IRS states"Your organization may be required to file a Form 990-N." Please make copies of these letters for your records. My recommendation is that copies also be sent to your State Board*. The National Board needs copies of both of these letters. As the National Treasurer, I am requesting that these letters are collected and sent as a State by either the State President or Treasurer to me at [email protected]. I have receive many letters already. By receiving the letters as a group, this will serve as a check and balance system. These letters are very important. I do not want any to be lost in either cyberspace or in the mail. For filing the 990 the name on the letter is in the IRS database as the legal name. The National Board needs to b able to reference your EIN and the legal name recognized by the IRS.

Our National Treasurer has asked us to reach out to you again regarding IRS letters. She advises the second letter has a reply date in the upper right hand corner and must immediately be signed and sent to [email protected] and [email protected]. If the IRS does not receive the info the case will be closed as stated in the letter.
If you have this letter please take action immediately. Contact our National Treasurer Marilyn Madigan with any questions or concerns.
