​Teresa Kearns of Lockport was elected Irish Historian for the State of New York during the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians biannual state convention in Rochester in July. She will serve on the LAOH state board for two years. Kearns is a member of the Lockport LAOH and the only member from Western New York to serve as an officer on the state board. She’s an officer in the Lockport division and on the Niagara County board. The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is an Irish Catholic organization whose motto is “Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.” For information about joining, send an email to: laohlockport@gmail.com.

Please join us in congratulating LAOH Sister, Maggie Brogan on being named to The Irish Echo 2023 Irish 40 Under 40 Awards! Since joining the LAOH, Maggie has stepped up and proven to be a huge asset to the Order at the Division Level and holds the position of Sentinel & Public Relations Appointee, at the county level holds the position of Sentinel, is on the National Committee for Young Hibernians to help promote our Irish Heritage to the younger generations and most recently served as the Parliamentarian at the National LAOH Convention held in Pittsburgh in July of 2022. Maggie, your sisters could not be more proud of you and your dedication to promoting and continuing the Good Works of Our Order and sharing it with young ladies such as yourself!
Broome County LAOH Juniors do the work of the order.  Great Job Girls!

Guidelines for submission from LAOH, Inc. Webmaster/Publicity Appointee Sandi Swift:
  • deadlines the 1st of every EVEN month;
  • articles should be single spaced, Times New Roman font, size 12;
  • photos should be in high resolution jpg format with people identified in a separate Word document. Limit to 2 photos;
  • photos should NOT show alcohol on tables or in the hands of the people in the photo;
  • send to webmaster@ladiesaoh.com with subject line: "For Digest", otherwise, by default I will take it for the website.
